Karva Chauth is kept by married women in North India, mostly in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, on the Chaturthi of Kartika Krishna paksha. They fast without water from sunrise, gather for the evening katha and break the fast after seeing the moon, so the moonrise time for your city matters.
Good to know
Karaka Chaturthi (Karva Chauth) is a restricted holiday for Central Government offices. In 2026 only one RBI office (Shimla) listed it as a bank holiday.
